DuPage Montessori School offers a progressive, child-based educational program. We are looking for an Elementary Assistant Teacher to join our team. A Montessori environment strives for the perfect balance of freedom and structure. Our ideal assistant is someone who wishes to work in an environment that can be both a bustling place of exploratory learning and also a place of quiet concentration and individualized study. As a Montessori school, we expect every member of the team to work together, refining and improving the curriculum. The candidate should have a basic knowledge of all academic areas. They should also be a team player and be able to take direction from our lead teachers. Experience assisting in a school setting is preferred; Montessori experience is beneficial. Hours are from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

• Classroom management
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks as they change
• Able to take direction and initiative
• Willing to do what is needed: sanitize and clean shelves, restock supplies, make copies, etc.
• Model the behavior and tone of the lead teachers
• Supervision of students - both inside and outside of the classroom

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
